BUYER’S GUIDE
How to specify keder.
Keder connects a fabric edge to a matching rail. A useful specification describes the complete connection: track, finished profile, fabric and attachment method.
Start with the application
Describe where the fabric connects, how the assembly moves and whether it will be replaced or dismantled. Include the environment and any performance requirement.
Describe the mating track
Share a track cross-section or an existing sample. Record the channel, opening and joints. State the units used for every dimension.
Define the complete profile
Confirm the finished outside diameter, flap widths and attachment area. Distinguish finished profile dimensions from the dimensions of the core alone.
Match the fabric and joining method
Identify the fabric and coating, then discuss whether the intended construction is to be welded, sewn or assembled another way. Processing settings require material-specific validation.
Review a sample and the supporting information
Discuss sample arrangements and check the intended fit and attachment. Ask for any specifications or test evidence needed for the complete assembly.
Complete the commercial brief
Add quantity, supply format, destination and target date. Confirm the agreed drawing, material and commercial terms in the quotation before ordering.
